Register for the Small Business Certificate Program

The Infrastructure Health and Safety Association offers two health and safety e-learning certificates: one for independent operators and one for small businesses that employ up to 19 workers. These certificates provide health and safety awareness training that you can complete at your own pace from your home or office. Whether you are an independent operator or a small business owner, having this awareness training will give you a competitive edge when bidding for jobs and ensure that you and your workers are aware of common workplace hazards and know how to control them.

There are two steps to obtaining your Small Business Health and Safety Certificate:

STEP 1 COMPLETE THE REQUIRED ONLINE COURSES

  • Developing Workplace Violence and Harassment Policies (Ontario)
  • Incident Investigation
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Awareness
  • Workplace Hazards: Identification, Assessment and Control
  • Workplace Inspections

Total Cost of Training: $154.75 + applicable taxes
Note: Fee does not include the IHSA Certificate Application Form fee.

STEP 2 SUBMIT THE SMALL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE APPLICATION FORM

Each completed course will be added to your transcript. When you have completed each of the five required online courses, print the completed transcript and submit it to IHSA along with the completed application form and a $50 processing fee. A Small Business Health and Safety Certificate will be mailed to you when the application has been reviewed and your transcript has been verified.

Application Form fee— $50 for members; $150 for non-members
Note: The Application Form may be submitted in person or by mail and must include the application fee.

The Application Form is also available on the IHSA Small Business web page.
